Concession Assessment (from grade 9 to university level)
This is a specialised psycho-educational assessment aimed at identifying learning or occupational barriers that might hinder academic success.
The assessment aims to reduce these barriers by identifying and recommending adaptations in the learning or testing environment (concessions). These concessions can take various forms and are individualised dependent on the needs of the learner
- Specialised needs assessment is conducted over two days (approximately 6 hours each day, 12 hours in total)
- The assessment highlights any barriers to learning which directs the support / concessions that will be recommended
- Appropriate feedback and consultation with the relevant stakeholders (e.g. parents/ school) to support the application of the concession with the relevant authorities
